It promises to one of Ashby's biggest weeks of the year in terms of events - with the Jubilee celebrations and Fake Festival coming to town.

Saturday sees the return of Fake Festival to the Bath Grounds after a gap of three years.

Like most events, it was forced off the calendar due to the pandemic.

But it is back this Saturday as Ashby continnues its Jubilee Celebrations.

On the bill this year are tributes to the Rolling Stones, Coldplay, Kasabian, Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi and The Police.

The organisers say they are bringing six of their 'fake bands' to Ashby – professional 'touring-grade' tribute bands that put on a superb performance.

They look, sound and move like the real rock-stars – you have to see them to believe it.

The organisers work hard to ensure their festivals are safe, secure, accessible and friendly - with an environment that caters for all ages.

Giant marquee ensure a warm, lively, inside atmosphere, so you can really enjoy the music.

So round up your group or family members and make it a fun packed music day out - come and support live music and party with late into the evening.

You can find out more - and buy tickets - HERE.

Of course the Jubilee celebrations have been up and running today (Thursday) with the Pat Collins Funfair in Brook Street.

Jubilee artwork has decorated the town centre for some time as part of the Ashby Arts Festival.

But the highlight of the weekend will be the Market Street party which has become famous since being highlighted by the national press in recent years.

This year, there will be 300 tables and a flypast by a Lancaster bomber. The new Mayor of Ashby, Cllr John Deakin, will be opening proceedings just before noon.

You can find out more about what will be happening HERE.

That is not all of course, Donisthorpe is staging its own Jubilee celebrations tomorrow (Friday),

The village is holding a Family Field Day in the afternoon.

And you can find out more about that HERE.

Measham is also having its Jubilee celebrations tomorrow (Friday).

They will be happening at Measham Leisure Centre with Music and Karaoke on the Saturday evening as well.

Full details are below.

As usual, there are plenty of music events too with Brew in Market Street continuing its reputation for giving local talent a stage to play on.

Tomorrow (Friday) the craft beer bar will be having its first open mic evening with musicians invited to come and play.

You can find details of that HERE

Brew also has the latest in its Lazy Sunday Afternoon Sessions this weekend.

Sunday sees live music from Lazy Sunday Afternoon Acoustic Session with Warren Stanford and Rob Lea.

It starts directly after the Jubilee Street Party in Market Street which ends at 3pm.

Details are HERE

It wouldn't be Ashby without some food and drink - and the two combine nicely tomorrow evening and Saturday.

Ashby Wines is having its first ever pop up wine bar, at Mmacaron on Market Street.

It's happening not once, but twice - on Friday and Saturday from 5:30pm to 10pm.

Away from the Jubilee celebrations, Moira Furnace has another of its Craft Fairs on Sunday afternoon.

There are over 50 stalls, hot food vendors, boat rides, the museum, and other entertainment - with free parking and free entry.

This is a great way to support local small businesses and crafters as well as supporting Moira Furnace.

You can find more details HERE.
