Ashby de la Zouch Town Council has warned drivers they will not be able to park overnight in Brook Street tonight (Wednesday).
This is because a Pat Collins funfair will be setting up for the beginning of Ashby's four-day Jubilee celebrations which culminate in a 300-table street party in Market Street this Sunday afternoon.
The fair will be open tomorrow (Thursday) however, which means the road will be closed overnight and until Sunday.
The Town Council has posted a warning on social media which reads: "No overnight parking in Brook Street tonight.
"The road will be closed from 6am Thursday 2nd June to facilitate our Jubilee funfair."
The council also issued full details of the road closures and parking restrictions last month.
With a street party in Market Street, and a funfair in Brook Street, those roads will be subject to closure during all or some of the four day celebration
The council says that, to facilitate the party and fair, Brook Street will be closed to vehicular traffic on Thursday, June 2 from 6am, until 8pm on Sunday, June 5
And Market Street will be closed from 6am on Sunday, June 5, until 8pm
There will be no parking available on Market Street or Brook Street while the closures are in place
The council asks that all parked vehicles are cleared by 6am on the Sunday, June 5, and that all deliveries are made before 6am.
In addition, no waiting at any time will be in force for the entire length of South Street, Wilfred Gardens and Trinity close from 6am on Sunday, June 5.
For any additional information, the council's town centre manager can be contacted via email on [email protected].
Or by phone on (01530) 416961, Monday to Wednesday, 8.30am to 1pm.
