A flypast by the Avro Lancaster Bomber will be the highlight of the Donisthorpe Community Group's Family Field Day next month.

The event wlll be held on June 3 to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

But at 13:01, a fly past from the Lancaster has been promised .

It will leave RAF Coningsby, in Lincolnshire, en route to Donisthorpe as well as other destinations.

Organisers booked a flypast last September in the hope that it would be accepted.

And they admit they have been very lucky.

The poster explains most of what else will be happening on the day.

There is also a ticketed event on Sunday, June 5, for a pensioners' lunch at The Halfway House pub in Donisthorpe.

This is for local residents and will also have a flypast by the Lancaster Bomber.
