What's on this weekend in Ashby: Folk Festival and Ceilidh, Soul Night, brewery tour and more

This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities - there is something for everyone. This week includes: Moira Folk Festival and Ceilidh, live music, street food and more.

Moira Furnace Folk Festival and Ceilidh
From 15th to 17th August, Moira Furnace will hold a folk festival with a packed performance schedule of live music, Morris dancing, a ceilidh, workshops and more.
The folk festival will also extend to local pubs, with singarounds and live music at The Railway Inn and The Rawdon Arms.
This year, the line up of live music is packed with local performers and folk groups, including Andy Popplestone, Chris Fox, Green Man Rising, Alan Wood and Elbow Jane.
On Saturday 16th August, there will be a Ceilidh in Moira Miners Welfare Club, open to both festival-goers and locals. This is free for festival ticketholders to attend or will cost £8 per person, which can be bought in advance or on the day.

Ibstock Soul Club – Motown and 60s/70s Soul Night
Central Bar and Venue in Ibstock are once again hosting Ibstock Soul Club for a sensational night of 60s and 70s soul music.
Taking place on Saturday 16th August from 7.30pm until midnight, the evening will feature resident DJs Richard John and Rob Gray, with special guest John Barker, playing tracks on vinyl over the venues superb in-house surround sound system.
This event costs £5 to attend and can be bought with cash on the door.

Weekend events at Brew
Every weekend, Brew on Ashby's Market Place holds a street food pop-up on Saturday evening and a Lazy Sunday Afternoon Acoustic session.
This week, the street food pop-up is Souvlaki To Go, who will be serving up delicious barbecue kebabs with tasty fillings in the flat bread. Wash this down with a craft beer and enjoy a chilled summer evening at Brew.
On Sunday afternoon, Ryan Atter will be performing in their afternoon slot from 3pm.
Brewery Tour at The Milking Parlour, Calke
Tollgate Brewery are offering a captivating tour of Tollgate Brewery at Calke led by their highly-experienced Head Brewer, Dan.
This tour will provide a fascinating insight into their specialised brewing process and includes a beer tasting, question and answers session, a refreshing pint, small wine or prosecco and your choice of a delicious pizza after the tour.
The tour will last approximately one hour but the brewery recommends allowing three hours for the tour, food and refreshments.
