There are a series of ongoing and upcoming road works in Ashby and the surrounding area, including the A42 at Junction 13, Burton and Ashby Roads, and main roads in Blackfordby, Moira and Albert Village.

A42, Junction 13

There will be slip-road, layby and lane closure at Junction 13 Northbound overnight on the 18th to 21st August. Works will be carried out between 8pm and 6am on these days and will reopen during the day.

Burton and Ashby Road 

Burton and Ashby Road will undergo pre-resurfacing patching on 18th and 19th August between 7am and 7pm, with the road, according to Leicestershire County Council, closed during this time. 

The recommended diversion is along the A511 and Smisby Road.

Footpath O89 

Footpath O89 continues to be closed until further notice after being closed for alleged Health and Safety reasons by Leicestershire County Council. Ashby Town  Council are working hard to find a solution for this by the end of the school summer holidays.

Main Street, Blackfordby 

Between South Close and Butt Lane, a section of Blackfordby's Main Street will continue to be shut until 5th September as road works are carried out. 

The recommended diversion by Leicestershire County Council is along either Heath Lane towards Boundary or Butt Lane to join Ashby Road (A511).

Bath Lane, Moira 

A small section of road on Bath Lane in Moira by the turning for Via Devana will be shut between 8am on 20th August and 6pm on 22nd August. This is for works carried out by Severn Trent Water. 

Please note there is also Moira Furnace Folk Festival between 15th and 17th August, meaning more traffic than usual will be on the roads in the area.

Occupation Road, Albert Village 

A section of road on Occupation Road in Albert Village between Hill field Close and Covert Place will be closed from 11th August to midnight on 22nd August for electrical works to be carried out. 

The diversion in place follows Mushroom Lane and Spring Cottage Road to the A444.
