'Very few people use traditional high street branches anymore and an estate agent having a ‘bank of buyers’ is an outdated myth'

Most house hunters browse online now rather than visiting traditional high street branches.
Given this, you can see the importance of getting fantastic photographs and floor plans, together with a compelling description to use for your property brochure online.
The market is dominated by two main providers - Rightmove and Zoopla. Zoopla also owns the trading brand Prime Location. To give you some idea of the power of these portals, Rightmove was the 28th most visited website in the UK in March 2025.

According to Semrush.com, who record data for trending websites, these portals had the following visitor traffic during March 2025:
1. Rightmove 79.25m
2. Zoopla/Prime Location 27.39m
3. On The Market 16.12m
Those numbers are staggering! By listing on the major two (which EweMove does), the combined monthly visitor numbers are over 106 million!
Rightmove is currently the clear leader, but there are signs that Zoopla is beginning to catch up. So, why is this important? Well, some agents only list their properties with one of the major portals in order to keep their costs down.
This means that you'll lose out on a significant number of potential buyers who don't get to see your property's details. According to website auditor Nielsen, over 80 per cent of the traffic on these sites is unduplicated. So, four out of five people simply use one portal exclusively as their preference, when they're searching for their next home.
The agents who do this are putting their own selfish interests (saving money on portal fees) ahead of their customers, who want the biggest and best exposure to buyers. In order to give your property the best chance of selling you need to make sure that it's listed on the two major portals. We market on Rightmove and Zoopla, hitting 98 per cent of buyers.

Another emerging way to attract potential buyers is through social media. We are very active and post across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. We do not just copy and paste our Rightmove and Zoopla adverts and put this on our social media pages.
Instead, we create bespoke and unique content designed to catch different people's attention. We also push this content out onto local community pages, which often have over 20,000 local people following.

All of the above is designed to sell properties in the 21st century. Very few people use traditional high street branches any more and an estate agent having a 'bank of buyers' is an outdated myth. The best way to attract the most potential buyers is to really stand out against competitors on the online portals and through social media.
