This topic might be one that you would normally give little regard to, but hang in there.

With the Easter Bank Holidays fast approaching, EweMove Ashby will be open over the whole Bank Holiday weekend, including Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

Bank Holidays are such an important time for your estate agent to be available, as so will all of your potential buyers.

A prime example of this is during the August Bank holiday weekend in 2024, we received a viewing request on the Bank holiday Sunday, we called and spoke with the viewer the same day and booked them in for the Bank Holiday Monday.

This viewer is a HGV driver, who frequently works 15 hour days, up and down the country. Meaning that it would have been extremely difficult for them to book in a viewing with any other agent. This viewer ended up going on to buy the house!

Similarly, your ideal buyer is more than likely going to work during the day and have their free time during the evenings and at weekends. This is the time during which they'll browse online looking for their perfect new home.

This is also the time when the vast majority of estate agents have their doors slammed shut!

Since the start of 2025, 65 percent of all of our in-person customer interactions have taken place outside of the traditional 9-5 Monday-Friday opening hours. This stat really helps to emphasise the importance of flexibility in the current housing market.

This means that, outside of those traditional opening hours, if a potential buyer needed to view the property you would need to do these viewings yourselves.

Doing your own viewings can be detrimental as the viewer won't always be as honest with you about your property, through fear of insulting or offending you.

It also means that you need to use up your valuable time doing something you might not be comfortable with and ultimately, isn't this what you are paying your agent to do?

TOP TIP

To make sure that you do not lose out on a potential buyer, choose an agent that has cover 24/7. 9-5 simply does not cut it in today's housing market.
