The historic event - which goes back more than 800 years - is back in its normal place in the calendar.

Last year, the Statutes fair was put back by a week due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

There are the usual traffic and one-way systems in place, plus changes to the positions of bus stops.

The Venture Theatre's production of Jane Eyre runs until Saturday night in Ashby.

Jane Eyre is the story of one woman's fight to free herself of the oppressive conventions of Edwardian life and to live on her own terms. Facing obstacles, she survives poverty, injustice and the discovery of a bitter betrayal before deciding to follow her heart.

Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre is arguably one of the greatest love stories of all time and continues to inspire writers around the world.
