Ashby Statutes Fair is set to return for five days this week - which, for many, will mark the beginning of Autumn.

The town's famous fun fair is back from this Friday until Tuesday, September 19 with attractions to suit all age groups.

From the dodgems and waltzers to hook a duck and darts, the Harris Family has something to keep the whole family entertained.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: "Ashby Statutes returns every year, and usually signifies the end of summer and start of autumn.

"The locals love it and it's always great to see Ashby's Market Street brimming with people.

"Like every year, there will be road closures and a one-way system in place and we'd like to remind people with cars to avoid the town centre if they can whilst the fair is in town."

Opening times:

• Friday 15 September – 4pm to 11pm

• Saturday 16 September – 11am to 11pm

• Sunday 17 September – 12pm to 8pm

• Monday 18 September – 4pm to 10pm

• Tuesday 19 September – 4pm to 10pm

There will be road closures and one-way system in place for the duration of the Statutes.

Market Street and Brook Street will close and a comprehensive one-way system will be in operation.

Road users are advised to access the town centre by foot and if they cannot, then to plan ahead and prepare for traffic delays, particularly around peak travel times.

Temporary bus stops will be in operation on North Street on The Green, and South Street near the car park.
