Moth and bat nature-themed events are lined up by National Forest at Albert Village Lake
Two nature-themed events have been lined up in the National Forest at Albert Village Lake this month.
Whether you are a wildlife enthusiast or just looking for a fun and educational family outing, there is something for everyone in sessions that are being organised by the National Forest company.
There is a Moth Trapping event on Tuesday, September 26 at the lake.
Led by Dave Robinson and guest experts, this activity allows you to witness the diverse range of moths that live in the area.
Meeting at 7:45pm for an 8pm start, it will be a perfect evening excursion for nature enthusiasts.
More information is available from [email protected] or you can book your place HERE.
After meeting at the Albert Village Lake car park, a few miles outside Ashby de la Zouch, the group will walk to the first trap to meet a wildlife recorder and find out more about how the moth traps work.
The wildlife recorder will also be checking the traps to record the findings, and will give more information about the habits and behaviours of the species.
There will also be opportunities to take part in the identification process and learn more about the fascinating features of these insects.
On Friday, September 29, you can join Leicestershire Bat Group for a Bat Walk at Albert Village Lake and Diana Wood.
Equipped with detectors provided by the organisers, this guided walk will teach you how to listen out for bats and learn more about their nocturnal behaviour.
Meet at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start, ensuring an informative and interesting nocturnal adventure. Email [email protected] for more information.
