If you have always fancied being a singer - but never had the opportunity to give it a go, Saturday morning in Packington could be for you.
Residents of Packington and surrounding villages have been invited to take part in a free 'Spring into Singing' event on Saturday, April 1, between 10am-12noon.
It will be held at Packington Church with a view to getting people interested in community choir sessions.
After introducing the weekly 'Packington Sings' session during the Covid-19 pandemic, local musician and singing teacher Aimée Harrison is hoping that this introductory session will whet appetites and encourage people to come along to the weekly choir meetings, beginning on Thursday. April 20, 7-9pm.

Ashby Venture Theatre's production of The Turn of the Screw runs until Saturday.

Following the performance on Friday (March 31), there will be a free Q&A session with playwright Patrick Prior and the cast.
The Turn of the Screw has been adapted by Patrick Prior from the novel by Henry James.
It tells the tale of a young governess who agrees to look after two orphaned children in Bly, a seemingly idyllic country house. However, shortly after she arrives, she realises they are not alone.
There are others: the ghosts of Bly's troubled past.The governess will risk everything to keep the children safe, even if it means giving herself up to the 'others'.

On Sunday, Packington Horticultural Society is hosting its second Spring Fair at Packington Memorial Hall.
Doors open at 10.00am until 1.00pm.
It is a shopping event that will see local businesses, craftspeople and artisan makers showcase their talents and sell their products.
Browse a range of local craft, gift and food stalls and grab yourself a bargain whilst supporting local businesses.

The Greyhound in Boundary has two gigs - on Friday, The Modskas are playing live.
Then Saturday night sees The Detroits welcomed to The Greyhound.
The White Hart in Ashby also has live music on Saturday night.
The Market Street venue hosts The Jagged Rocks this weekend.
Brew in Market Street has another busy couple of days lined up.
The Ashby craft beer bar will have more pop-up food with G-Kitchen.
