Residents of Packington and surrounding villages have been invited to take part in a free 'Spring into Singing' event on Saturday, April 1, between 10am-12noon.

It will be held at Packington Church with a view to getting people interested in community choir sessions.

After introducing the weekly 'Packington Sings' session during the Covid-19 pandemic, local musician and singing teacher Aimée Harrison is hoping that this introductory session will whet appetites and encourage people to come along to the weekly choir meetings, beginning on Thursday. April 20, 7-9pm.

Here is how Ashby Nub News covered Packington's lockdown musicians three years ago.

The cost of the sessions will be £5 per person each week - but the April 1 event is FREE.

Aimee says that no experience is necessary, and complete beginners are very welcome.

She added: "The only requirement is enthusiasm and a willingness to have a lot of fun!"

Material will be mixed, from soul to classical and jazz to show tunes; the focus will be on enjoyment and 'the power of song to lift the spirit'.

Anyone wishing to book in to either 'Spring into Singing', or the April 20 sessions beginning can contact Aimée by emailing [email protected], calling 07967 316645, or via Facebook on the Packington Community Choir page.
