Ashby's Big Weekend is back with a new look as it takes place over two days - Saturday and Sunday.

Day One on Saturday sees a number of live acts on stage at the Bath Grounds as part of the town's RealFest which returns to the town after a three-year break.

The line up looks like this:

• Expressions Dance Troupe at 2pm. A local dance school offering a wide range of disciplines and run by principals Heather Ward and Linda Thornley. The street dance troupe is run by Harry Thornley and they perform all over the Midlands.

• W4 at 2.45: Nick, Lee and Dave have been playing together for 20 years and are well known on the local music circuit. They cover a wide range of rock songs from the 60s to the present day.

• Big Mog and the Alley Cats play live at 3.45: A great local blues and jazz band who have played at Realfest before and proved popular with the crowd.

• The Mercians are on stage at 4.45: With their 'Sam Fender meets Catfish and the Bottlemen' influences, the locally based band are gaining a growing reputation.

• The Four Kicks play live at 5.45: The Four Kicks have developed a reputation as the UK's finest tribute to the Kings of Leon. They have performed in venues across Great Britain and Europe receiving plaudits from venues, promoters and mega-fans alike.

• Meat Loaf Tribute Act is on stage at 7pm: This high energy show combines Terry Nash's impressive vocal range, power, and versatility. A truly great way to remember the late, great Meatloaf.

• The day ends with Grease - The Singalong Music Film at 8.30. Re-live your youth, have a sing-song and show your kids how it was back then! There is also a prize for the best group fancy dress.

Day two's Proms in the Park line-up looks like this:

• Sophie Dangerfield at 5pm. Sophie is a local singer specialising in weddings and special events. She sings a wide range of styles to suit all tastes and will be performing 1940s swing music 5.40pm.

• Harry Thornley is playing at 5.45. He has been singing for over nine years and covers everything from the 1950s through to the current day.

• Madison Avenue UK are on stage at 6.40. They are an 11 piece function band based in Derbyshire. Established in 2016, they play a variety of music from soul, Motown and disco classics through to more modern and contemporary hits.

• Ashby Big Band are playing at 7.45. They are a 14 to 16 piece Swing Orchestra using the classic Big Band formation of saxes, brass and rhythm section of some of the great big bands of the swing era. The music is a tribute to Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, more recently Ted Heath and a name youngsters will recognise; Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

• The D-Day Darlings and D-Day Juniors will be on stage at 9pm.

The UK's premier group paying tribute to the songs of wartime, The D-Day Darlings, were signed to Sony Music UK after reaching the finals in ITV's Britain's Got Talent. In 2018, their debut album, "I'll Remember You", reached number 15 in the official album charts, receiving a Silver Disc for over 60,000 sales.

As the best-selling female group to emerge from Britain's Got Talent, the Darlings received a BRIT Certified Breakthrough Award in 2019 and have since performed alongside a host of celebrities such as Michael Ball and Pixie Lott, appearing on prime time shows for Radio 2, Heart FM, ITV and BBC, with a special performance for members of The Royal Family.

They will be joined on stage by The D-Day Juniors who are following in their footsteps, keeping the wartime spirit alive. They also appeared on BGT 2020 singing the original song 'Pass it on".

• The event's Grand Finale is planned for 10.10pm when the Ashby Big Band join the D-Day singers round off the weekend.
