Two major events are set to take place in Ashby over the next month as the town continues to emerge from lockdown.

A recent meeting of Ashby de la Zouch Town Council's events and entertainment committee confirmed the go-ahead for Proms in the Park and the annual Statutes.

The 'Proms in the Park' event is to be held on Saturday, August 28. Tickets are available from the website HERE but all of the VIP tickets have been sold.

The line-up for the event at the Bath Grounds was announced in March, you can find out more HERE.

Ashby Statutes is due to return in next month, from September 17-21, on Market Street and Brook Street.

A request from the operators was made to extend the hours of operation on Sunday, September 19, by two hours so that it will close at 8pm rather than 6pm.

There were no objections from the Committee to this proposal.

Last year, it was decided that it would be 'impossible' to host the Statutes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

You can read what was said 12 months ago HERE.

A 'Foresters' Market' was due to be held on Saturday, October 16 on Brook Street but has had to be cancelled as the National Forest Company was unable to source an operator to run the event.
