Ashby Lido is trialling cold water swimming sessions next month

Ashby Leisure Centre & Lido has announced there will be cold water swimming sessions at the pool next month.

The newly-relaunched pool will be switching the heating off on Sunday, August 29.

After that, you will still be able to book cold water swimming for £5 per session.

The venue's Facebook page says: "On Sunday, 29th August, the heating to the outdoor pool will be switched off and the temperature will drop throughout the month, allowing lane swimming to continue in cold water.

"This is the first time we have introduced the session and will be trialled out for this year.

"This is due to the high demand of the outdoor pool."

From September 1 to September 30, you can book a session on a Monday (6pm-7pm); Tuesday (8am-9am); Wednesday (6pm-7pm); Thursday (8am-9am); Saturday and Sunday (9am-10am).

The Lido was re-opened to the public in May after redevelopment work was carried out during last year's lockdown.
