Trial ends for Ashby hopper bus
By Grace Kennington 7th Apr 2026
LoveAshby have confirmed that the trial run of the Ashby Hopper Bus has now ended, leaving them to look into feedback and put forward a future proposal.
LoveAshby, who promote the work of Ashby BID (Business Improvement District), shared on social media that the initial hopper bus trial has officially come to an end.
Following the official launch on 28 November 2025, the trial was supposed to tend of 28 February but was further extended.
The hopper bus followed two routes, both starting and ending at Costa, hoped to 'better connect people living on the outer estates and bring them in to use the town's facilities in a convenient way.'
'If the trial proves to be successful and well supported,' said BID, 'then we will look at how it can be extended in the future.'
In the statement about the end of the trial, Love Ashby said: 'A huge thank you to everyone who used the service, shared feedback, and helped prove what a difference better connectivity can make.
'We'll now be spending time analysing the data and routes, building a full business case, and entering discussions with LCC Highways to explore support for a future service.'
