Teenager arrested after car crashes into house in Ashby

A teenager was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crashed into a house in Ashby in the early hours of this morning (Fri).

The 19-year-old woman has since been released under investigation following the incident in Wood Street.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman said: "Shortly after 3.45am today, we received a report that a car had collided with a property in Wood Street, Ashby.

"It was reported that the car had collided with the front of the property and had then been driven off.

"Nobody in the property was injured.

"The car – a BMW 1 Series – was found unoccupied in a car park off Nottingham Road, Ashby, a short time later.

"As a result of further enquiries, a 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

"She has since been released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing."

Firecrews from Ashby and Coalville stations also attended the incident.
