Ashby's Hood Park has been hit by overnight flooding with the football ground underwater on Sunday.

A photo posted on the Ashby Ivanhoe FC Facebook page shows the extent of Storm Dennis with more rain falling this morning.

The football club added a message to the photo which read: "Fair to say there won't be any games on Hood Park today... unless anyone fancies a spot of water polo?"

Flooding has hit the Ashby area with a number of roads closed due to the extreme weather.

The rain is forecast to become lighter on Sunday according to www.weather-forecast.com. They say: 'Light rain (total 8mm), mostly falling on Sunday morning. Mild temperatures (max 8°C on Sun morning, min 0°C on Tue night).

"Winds decreasing (near gales from the WSW on Sunday night, fresh winds from the West by Tuesday night).
