Roles with North West Leicestershire District Council

There are several roles available at North West Leicestershire District Council this week.

• Environmental Health Officer - As a part of our Environmental Protection Team, this role will involve carrying out duties in relation to private sector housing & housing standards, pollution control, nuisance, disabled facilities grants and respond to service requests in relation to air quality and contaminated land.
• Central Control Operator - This part time role involves working with a team to provide a vital link through telecare community alarms system for elderly or vulnerable people who might need help, depending on the circumstances, calling on the help of a named contact or the emergency services. They also answer the council's out of hours' emergency calls from people throughout the district, e.g. housing maintenance emergency calls from tenants, dangerous structures reported by the Police or other major incidents such as fire or flood.
• Temporary Housing Officer - This role is an exciting, fixed term role within our Housing Management team working with our tenants and their families across North West Leicestershire. They are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills to join our busy team as a generic Housing Officer who will be responsible for a 'patch' of properties within the district, dealing with all aspects of Tenancy and Estate Management.

Kitchen Porter at Twelve in Ashby

Twelve is hiring a dedicated Kitchen Porter to help in the kitchen, maintaining high cleaning standards.

Although prior experience is preferred, it is not essential.

The main duties include:

• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
• Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
• Support the organisation of storage areas, including fridges and dry stores
• Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed diligently during daily operations

Waiting/ Bar Staff at The Smisby Arms

The Smisby Arms are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focussed individual to join their front of house team.

The role will be focussed on providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.

Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
