North West Leicestershire District Council's (NWLDC) Green Shoots Grant Scheme has returned for another year.

This is available to constituted community groups, schools and parish councils to help them plant a variety of flowering bulbs to brighten up the Ashby de la Zouch area.

Last year, 61,000 bulbs were given away to 16 different groups.

Following this success, the following bulb varieties are available to order:

• Crocus
• Tulips
• Daffodils
• Mixed narcissi
• Snowdrops.
• Mixed spring bulbs
• Mixed long-season bulbs

Bulbs are provided in multiples of 1,000 and the minimum order is 2,000 bulbs. 

Groups will pay 50 per cent of the cost of the bulbs, plus a delivery charge.

Applications are open now and will close on Sunday, September 1, and can be submitted online HERE.
