Fishers Solicitors is marking the fourth year of 'Ashby Connect' by taking the increasingly popular business networking event on the road.

Fishers Solicitors started Ashby Connect three years ago, and it has been held every month at The Beeches pub and restaurant on Burton Road. A free-to-attend event, it provides the perfect opportunity for local businesses, start-ups, and professionals from Ashby and further afield to make valuable connections.

Last week's third anniversary event invited regular attendees and newcomers to reflect and celebrate the years of growth, success, and achievements together since the first meeting in 2022.

The first of these special events kicks off in June with a visit to Canine Partners in Osgathorpe - a UK charity that trains assistance dogs to help people with physical disabilities live more independent and confident lives.

Ian Riley, Director & Head of Commercial Property at Fishers Solicitors, explained the popular event will continue in its regular home at The Beeches, but with additional events taking place at locations around the local area, in order to showcase local businesses further: "Our first stop will be Canine Partners in Osgathorpe in June", he said.

"Fishers Solicitors is proud to support Canine Partners this year, and as part of our collaboration, we're delighted that they'll be hosting Ashby Connect at their premises in June. The event also coincides with the charity's milestone 35th anniversary, making it a perfect time to celebrate their incredible work - and if we're lucky, we might even meet some of their amazing assistance dogs."

Ian says the event has grown considerably from the first meeting, and now attracts around 80 people every month.

He added: "Often I ask myself - what are people getting from this? How does it benefit them? What does it bring to their world? Everyone consistently says that they enjoy coming, which is what matters most. They're making valuable new connections, landing new contracts, and in some cases, becoming friends."

"Sometimes, business owners might be facing a challenge and feel like they're the only ones dealing with it. But once they start talking about it, they often discover others in the room saying, "I've got the same issue too. So, people are bouncing ideas off each other, which then helps their business. It's sharing of information and guidance that helps them be more successful and flourish even more."

"Our beginnings were very small. The first event had no more than 15 people in the room, and about nine or ten of them were from Fishers Solicitors! Since it was our event, we turned up en masse. But once the word got out, it began to grow organically from there."

"What surprises me each month is that I always meet someone attending for the first time. Even after three years, new people are still discovering us, which just goes to show how the word continues to spread."

Ashby Connect takes place on the last Wednesday of each month, offering a relaxed and informal setting to build new business connections. Discover upcoming events and register at www.fisherslaw.co.uk/ashbyconnect.
