ASHBY BID is funding a private ambulance service over the Christmas period for Ashby De La Zouch's Nightlife and Night time economy throughout December.
This will feature an ambulance vehicle between 9pm-3am on Market Street around the area outside Birds Bakery and The Lamb Inn.
The crew will attend any welfare-related issues, alongside dealing with medical emergencies in the surrounding Market Street area.
This prevents the NHS's time from being taken up by customers that who may be intoxicated or incident that are related to night time celebrations.
Stuart Benson from Ashby BID said: "We are always looking at ways to raise the standards by supporting Ashby's night time economy and Purple Flag accreditation.
"Ashby BID is proud to partner with 25 Eight Medical Group in order to provide additional medical support to the town during the busy festive season.
"Ashby is very welcoming and we want residents and visitors alike to feel safe while enjoying the town's nightlife.
"Having a crewed ambulance stationed in the town centre during key dates gives an extra reassurance of care available."
The dates below are when the ambulance crew will be available - at the times mentioned above.
- 14th December
- 20th December
- 21st December
- 28th December
- 31st December
The 25 Eight Medical Group is a CQC registered private ambulance service offering event medical cover, private medical contracts, patient transport service, high dependency and more.
It was purchased by local entrepreneur James Dean, of James Dean Event Group in 2023 - and has provided private medical cover to Ashby's night-time economy environment over the last four years.
James explained: "As an ambulance service, we're incredibly passionate about the local area and its safety, and operate the night time service on a not-for-profit basis for key periods of the year.
"Last year, the service treated 43 patients over the five days that it provided medical cover.
"The patients dealt with included those with chest pain, psychological distress, unconscious persons, severe head trauma and injuries resulting from violence.
"Our team was able to provide swift responses to the situations, arriving on the scene within minutes, due to their location and the effective communication between venues.
"If you are in the local area on the above dates, please do not hesitate to reach out to the crews and let your younger sons and daughters know of their location if they plan to go out. Thank you to Stuart and the BID for providing funding and care for the local area."
