Popular Market Street Food Store Issues Statement To Say It Is Business As Usual Despite Tier 4 Restrictions

Birds Bakers in Ashby says it plans to stay open despite the region being placed into Tier 4 coronavirus restrictions.

The well-known, popular Market Street food shop comes into the essential category.

And a statement issued by Birds Bakery in Derby says: "The government announced that the East Midlands area would be joining the Tier 4 COVID restriction level from Thursday morning.

"In line with other essential food stores, Birds Bakery shops will be staying OPEN.

"Further updates will be posted on our social media platforms during the forthcoming days to keep our customers updated."

It will be good news for people who enjoy its range of food, including cakes, bread and rolls, which has ben popular in the town for decades.

Ashby joins a number of Birds stores in the Derbyshire area which will continue to do business.

Birds re-opened its doors in April after the initial coronavirus lockdown in March: Birds set to open its doors to customers again.
