Coronavirus: Popular Ashby Shop Is Set To Open Its Doors Again

One of Ashby's long-established shops is set to re-open its doors on Tuesday.

Birds Bakery is among the most popular food stores in the town.

But the Market Street shop has been closed due to the recent Coronavirus measures.

However, a sign on Birds front door says that it will now be opening from 9am-2pm, starting on Tuesday.

It will be good news for people who like the shop for its range of food, including cakes, bread and rolls.

Ashby joins a number of Bird's stores in the Derbyshire area which have been gradually opening its doors again.

The Derby-based company is believed to have been working on increasing its production capacity.

A message on the Birds website reads: "We are currently increasing the number of stores we have open selling a limited range of products.

"We would like to thank you all for your support throughout these challenging times and look forward to welcoming you back as soon as possible. Stay safe and take care of each other."
