North West Leicestershire Police have issued a warning about taking care when parking at Moira Primary School.

They say they were responding to a 'near miss' between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area.

A social media post reads: "The Forest Beat Team have carried out patrols in Moira and Blackfordby, including school parking patrols at Moira Primary School - in response to reports of a near miss between a motor vehicle and pedestrians at this location.

"We would like to gently remind parents and carers to park sensibly when picking up or dropping off children.

"Please do not block residents' driveways or park on zig zag markings.

"Please do not park in an inappropriate place to drop off or pick up your child for example close to a junction or on a blind bend."
