Police are hunting for wanted man after morning raid on Ashby home

Police are searching for a man who they tried to arrest at an address in in Ashby this morning (Monday).

Officers from North West Leicestershire Police arrived at a property in Holywell Avenue - only to find the wanted man, who was was not at the address.

Leicestershire Police say the man was wanted on a court warrant, which usually issued by a Magistrates' or Crown Court.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "Officers attended an address in Holywell Avenue to carry out an arrest attempt for a man wanted on a court warrant.

"The man was not at the address and enquiries to locate him are continuing."

Leicestershire Police posted a photo on their Facebook page as officers arrived at the Ashby address.

Their post reads: "A brisk start to the day for a number of the North West Leicestershire Neighbourhood Team as they conduct a warrant in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. #InYourCommunity."
