Plans have been submitted for a six-bedroom house in a country lane site in Smisby.

Drawings showing what the structure would look like when finished reveal a large-scale development in Forties Lane - close to the junction with Heath Lane.

An application is currently with South Derbyshire District Council for demolition of outbuilding, and the building of a dwelling with associated infrastructure.

The site of the proposed house is at Holmleigh in Smisby and the architect is Ashby-based company David Granger Design Ltd.

The application has been made by Mr and Mrs C. Hartley, of Overseal.

The site is on Forties Lane

Detailed plans show a reinforced front entrance door and a proposed fountain at the approach to the house.

Six bedrooms, plus a children's bedroom, are also part of the plans.

South Derbyshire District Council documents show that the application was validated last month and is currently under consultation.

A final decision on the planning application is expected by mid-March.
