Sunday saw around 1,000 scooters arrive in Market Street, from all over the Midlands, for the Great Ashby Gathering.

The vehicles parked up and provided a spectacular sight on a glorious, sunny day.

The event centred on The Lamb in which provided live music for the scooter enthusiasts who brought a distinct Mod and Two Tone flavour to Ashby.

One reader wrote to Ashby Nub News about the event and said: "We drove through the town on Sunday lunch-time and had to stop and park to see such fabulous scooters. It was very nostalgic as we were Mods in the 60s.

"I believe they came from the West Midlands. The town was buzzing and vibrant with beautiful scooters parked through the town."
