One of Ashby's newest shop owners has described the moment that allowed him to make a real go of his business.

Keith Tiplady is bringing Indulgent Chocolates to Ashby next month when he opens a shop in Bath Street Ashby chocolate shop to open next month.

But last week, he spoke on BBC's Morning Liveprogramme about the deal that enabled him to buy the machinery he needed to take the next step forwards.

Keith, a former project manager with Triumph, told the programme: "I was put on furlough, then made redundant.

"I'd been making chocolate as a hobby for friends and family.

"But then we had twins and I needed to turn it into more of a job."

Keith added that it was a response to one of his adverts that got him a dream order.

He added: "One day we got a message from someone asking for corporate gifts.

"They asked for 900 and, at the time, I was making maybe 50 a week.

"I thought I might as well go for it, but when I got the order it was for 3,000.

"The buyer paid up front which allowed me to buy the bigger machinery, without it, there was no way I could do it."
