A man from Oakthorpe was due in court today (Friday) after being charged with car theft - and a string of motoring offences.

Mark Anthony Clutton, 29, of Chapel Street, has been charged with failing to stop, driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance, obstructing a police officer and taking a motor vehicle without owner's consent.

Also in court was Jerrod Gask, 21, of Pasture Lane, Sutton Bonnington, who has been charged with being carried in a motor vehicle taken without owner's consent.

Leicestershire Police say that both were remanded to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court today (Friday 24 December).

The charges relate to two men stopped in a stolen vehicle in Leicester on Wednesday night (22 December).
