A Coalville man has been arrested has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a hit and run incident in Measham on Saturday night.

The 30-year-old has been released on police bail.

Police were called to High Street in Measham at 9.50pm following a report of a non-stop collision.

Detective Constable Mike Archer said: "We are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area of High Street at around 9.50pm and saw the pedestrians before the collision, the vehicle involved or the incident itself.

"If you have information and haven't yet spoken to officers please get in touch.

"Equally, if anyone captured what happened on their mobile phones, dashcam or CCTV we want to hear from you. Any information you have could assist with our investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting incident 713 of 4 July.
