Ashby WI raised funds for local Air Ambulance

On Thursday 19 August, 38 members of Ashby Spa WI were given a presentation on the lifesaving work of Your Local Air Ambulance.
The meeting took place at Ashby Baptist Church and the presentation was given by Air Ambulance Community Speaker Martin Cooper with his trusty mascot Marty Meerkat.
Martin is well known locally for attending community groups and banging the drum for the important work of the air ambulance.
Your Local Air Ambulance provides vital, rapid emergency care to communities across Warwickshire, Northampton, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Every mission flown by the Air Ambulance costs £2,500 and they receive no government or National Lottery Funding.
They also operate the National Children's Air Ambulance, which is a UK-wide service dedicated to transferring critically ill babies and children between hospitals.
From Martin and Marty's visit to the Ashby Spa WI, raising £227.67 for the charity.
