Leicestershire County Council says visits to Lount Tip on Nottingham Road must still be pre-booked if you need to visit this site.

Despite the latest easing of Covid rules that signal the opening of bars and restaurants indoors, you will still need an appointment to visit one of the County Council's recycling centres, including the one closest to Ashby at Lount.

Lount is one of 14 recycling and household waste sites in Leicestershire.

Site users must keep children and pets in cars at all times and be alert and aware of other vehicles and pedestrians on the site.

The site has been open until 6pm since last month. The last available booking slot will be 5.30pm – 5.45pm.

Opening hours: * Monday: 9:00-18:00

• Tuesday - Wednesday: Closed

• Thursday - Sunday: 9:00-18:00

• Vehicles are only allowed access to the site with a pre-booked appointment
• Vans and cars with trailers can book an appointment to visit this site on Thursday and Sunday mornings.
• Maximum of two adults per vehicle, suitable footwear and gloves should be worn to assist in safe handling of your waste. Please ensure you can unload your waste yourself as unfortunately at present no physical assistance can be given by site staff

• All vehicles must be off-site by closing time
• Pedestrian access is not permitted at this site
• When this site is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the site at Coalville is open
• All waste legally deposited at this site becomes the property of the County Council
