Company With Ashby Spa Resort Posts Revenue Figures Nearing £50million

A company with a base in Ashby have posted revenue close to the £50million mark.

Luxury spa brand Champneys have their Springs spa resort at Gallows Lane in Ashby.

Accounts filed under Champneys Henlow Ltd revealed the company generated revenues of £49.8m in the year to 30 April 2019, up from £42.2m 12 months earlier.

Pre-tax profits also climbed to £2.7m from £2.3m during the year, report www.insidermedia.com.

During the financial year, Champneys acquired a 63.8 per cent stake in SCI Bubbles, a company holding an investment property in France.

Champneys started life when founder Stanley Leif launched a 'Nature Cure Resort', thought to be the first in the UK.

It now has spas in Henlow, Tring, Liphook, Ashford as well as in Ashby.

And it also acquired Mottram Hall in Cheshire two years ago.
