A main route into Ashby will be closed for five days next while while sewerage work is carried out.

The stretch of road on Tamworth Road - between Avenue Road and Lower Packington Road - is due to be closed off next Monday (October 18).

The work is set to be carried out over the next five days - but will require drivers to seek alternative routes.

Motorists will need to use Measham Road, the A42, A511, Nottingham Road, Wood Street, Market Street, Bath Street, Station Street and vice versa.

S&R Construction will be carrying out work on the road to fit a new sewer connection, while Severn Trent Water will be installing a new hydrant.

The temporary traffic regulation has been agreed by Leicestershire County Council.
