InspireYouth Collective, which is based on Ashby's Market Street, has warned they might be forced to close as rising costs and lack of funding stretch their finances.

The IYC Hub is proud to offer a welcoming space for teenagers who need 'support, connection and somewhere they truly beyond.'

From their space, IYC supports a wide network of the Ashby community, offering: afterschool and school holiday activities for teenagers; a community fridge and clothes rail; mental health support; free hot meals and a warm space; sensory sessions for babies; and sessions for home-schooled children to socialise and learn in a positive environment.

The IYC has shared a crowd funder to raise £10,000 to help them keep their doors open.

In a statement published by the director, Emma Armstrong-Heath, she said: 'Rising costs now mean we are at risk of closing our doors.

'We are volunteer-led and stretch every pound, but we need our community's help to keep going.

'Your donation will help cover rent, utilities, food and essential resources so we can continue empowering young minds and building bright futures.'

Since opening in September 2025, IYC has made a massive impact on the community, having supported over 150 local under 16s.

They also offer a popular school holiday club, including spaces for 35 children on free school meals.

The IYC team has also been commended for their hard work with two brilliant awards. They were presented with the Women's Entrepreneurship Award 2025 for Community Impact and Prestige and Central England Award for Youth Innovation of the Year.
