Ashby Woulds litter picking group is in its third year and 'on a mission' to keep the area litter free.

Our litter picking group was formed in 2018 and the inaugural meeting was held in the council chambers of Ashby Woulds Town Council who, along with North West Leicestershire District Council, Leicestershire County Council and the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, have supported us with equipment, advice and disposing of the litter we collect.

Our merry band have been steadily picking ever since and making a difference in Moira, Norris Hill, Spring Cottage and Albert Village.

We are a small group of residents who are determined to make our neighbourhoods litter free.

It is a tall order, but we are on a mission to achieve this and if you would like to help, you would be very welcome to join us.

Our Litter Heroes have their own local patches where they pick when they can.

We also arrange big litter picks four times a year when we all band together and blitz an area.

These events are a great way to meet the rest of the group and we usually treat ourselves to tea and cake

when we have finished.

Litter picking is a simple way for you to make a positive contribution to your neighbourhood and our improve natural environment.

It is also a great boost for your sense of well-being.

If you are interested in joining the litter heroes, finding out when our next big litter pick will be or you would like more information, please contact us by email: [email protected]
