The Pottery Pop Up, an independent business running events in Ashby, has now opened a beautiful new pottery painting studio in the Heart of the National Forest.

Ashby business owner Jess launched The Pottery Pop Up in May 2025, holding her first event in Centivo Lounge in Ashby, creating a welcoming, relaxing space for local people to tap into their creative side and try something a bit different.

Since launching, Jess has grown her repertoire to include more than 10 regular pottery painting events every month in venues across the region and has now opened her own beautiful pottery studio in Rosliston Forestry Centre.

'With the pop ups being so popular and keeping me so busy,' explains Jess, 'I've been on the look out for a while for a studio space to work from.

'I also wanted my own space to offer birthday parties and other types of private events, whilst still running all my pop up events.

'It took me a while to find the right space, but when the space at Rosliston Forestry Centre became available, I knew it would become the perfect space.'

Jess officially opened the space on Friday 11 September, inviting Nub News to visit her very-pink new studio on opening day.

The space is kitted out with a wide variety of pieces to paint, from crockery, models and decorative pieces, ideal for lots of different painters of varying skill levels.

Looking to the future, Jess said: 'I plan to grow the range of sessions we offer, from regular pottery painting and paint-and-sip evenings to parties, hen dos, baby showers and private events all from The Studio.

'I'd love The Studio to become a real local destination for creativity and connection - somewhere people think of when they want a catch up with friends, but not just go for coffee.'
