Ashby Town Council, in collaboration with Ashby BID, is in search of an artist to paint a mural on the wall of Costa, behind the war memorial.

According to the town council, the project 'aims to create a focal piece of artwork to blend in with the War Memorial and be sympathetic to the surroundings, and also to connect Ashby's town centre with the surrounding national forest.'

They describe the war memorial and surrounding garden as a 'well respected [...] focus point for the Town's important Remembrance activities each year, which includes all local groups, the British Legion, the Mayor and councillors and gathers a large crowd of local people.'

They have a £10,000 budget for the mural, including the cost of equipment, insurance and materials.

The council hopes to start this project around mid April 2026.
