An Ashby pub which has closed due to Covid precautions plans to open its doors again this Saturday.

The Railway Tavern, in Tamworth Road, has been shut since last week.

But it now says it is scheduled to re-open to customers on Saturday afternoon.

A Facebook post from the pub's management last Friday read: "Unfortunately, The Railway Tavern will be closed today as a Covid precaution, we will update the Facebook page when we know more."

But that has since been updated with a planned re-opening date and says: "Good Morning Taverners.

"Unfortunately, we need to remain closed.

"We should be able to re-open as normal on Saturday 16 Oct at 2pm.

"Have a good week, stay safe and well. Love, Caroline & Keith."
