The family running the Halfway House in Donisthorpe have announced they will be leaving this Spring.

A post on the pub's Facebook page says that their four-year tenure will end on April 3.

The pub's website contains the following message from when they took over: "From the 1st of January, 2018 The Halfway House will be under new management by previous chefs Ashleigh and Zara.

"We are fully committed to carry on supporting the community and village and we strive to provide excellent customer service and homemade food."

But today's post (Wednesday) says they will be leaving as it best for 'us and our family'.

The post reads: "It comes with a very heavy heart that we have to do this, but myself and Ashleigh have made the very difficult decision to leave the Halfway House.

"Our last day of service here will be Sunday 3rd April and we hope that you all continue to support us until this time.

"We have had the most amazing time here and have loved every second and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the continued support you have given us over the last four years.

"This decision has not come lightly but it is the best decision for us and our family."
