It is pantomime season in Ashby this week and next as the Venture Theatre stages its production of Robin Hood.

Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men treat us all to some rib tickling laughter and toe tapping songs in this family pantomime.

Brought to you by Heart Of The Forest Productions, North West Leicestershire's very own pantomime production team, be prepared to laugh your socks off, tap those toes to an outstanding soundtrack, be awed by the fabulous dance routines and amazed by the daring sword fights.

This traditional tale of the rebellious local hero Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men has been given the full pantomime treatment and goes ahead at the North Street venue this Friday and Saturday.

The Conkers Parkrun in Moira is back in full swing again, and you can take part this and every Saturday morning at 9am.

Next week, Ashby Film Nights returns at the Lyric Rooms with Sunshine on Leith - on Wednesday night.

This is also a traditional Burns Night supper with a great feelgood movie to push away the cold dark nights. All for £12.50!

The Film - Sunshine on Leith (PG) - The movie, is based on 13 Proclaimers songs.

There are singalongs in pubs, brawls, romantic misunderstandings, digs at the English and a show-stopping dance sequence in Princes Street Gardens.

Ashby Film Nights showed this film in 2014 and it was the most popular film its has ever shown, so when looking for a Scottish theme to go with the meal, it was thought this would be a great fit.
