A flurry of late goals saw Ashby Ivanhoe past relegated Bridgnorth in the final game of the MFL Division One season.
Wednesday's play-off semi-final against OJM Black Country perhaps played a part in an Ivanhoe performance which rarely saw them leave third gear.
Andy Gray's side scored four times in the final 20 minutes after a lacklustre performance for much of the contest.
At the end of a first half which saw most of the clearcut chances at Tommy Dyche's goal, Ivanhoe took the lead when Jake Conkay's corner was turned home by Will Groocock, who scored with his first touch after replacing Chris Acott.
The second half began similarly to the first, with Bridgnorth having several sights at goal.
Their efforts did not come to fruition however, with a lack of quality in front of goal costing the visitors.
Bridgnorth's problem is not one shared by Ivanhoe, with the league's top scorer Sam Grouse up top - they only needed one sight of goal to double their lead.
Twenty minutes from time, Gabe Webster played a perfectly weighted pass over the defence to Grouse, whose sublime first touch allowed him to round the keeper and finish from a tight angle with the outside of his foot.
This goal seemed to spring life into Ivanhoe who extended their lead 10 minutes later.
Josh Thomas, another substitute, attempted a cross on the right of the penalty area, catching Bridgnorth's goalkeeper out and looping into the far corner.
Playing some high-quality football late in the match, a fourth goal was scored by Ash Garner.
Grouse this time providing the assist for Garner who swept his shot from the edge of the box into the top corner.
The rout was completed moments later with Grouse's brace. Fresh off the scoresheet, Garner chipped a well-timed pass over the Bridgnorth defender for Ivanhoe's number 10 who finished emphatically.
Attention now turns to Wednesday's semi final at home to OJM Black Country. After the victory, manager Gray spoke about the importance of preparation for such an occasion.
''The preparation is mostly mental, we've fallen at this hurdle before so it's a case of getting ourselves ready, which I believe we are, hopefully the tempo will be better than here''.
