Ashby de la Zouch Town Council has unveiled its new electric utility vehicle which will be used across a variety of operations.

The council says it has taken a significant stride towards its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030 - with the acquisition of a new Corvus Terrain Ex4

The vehicle was presented today (Monday) by Cllr Chris Smith, Leader of Ashby de la Zouch Town Council, Cllr Liz Parle, Chair of the Parks & Cemetery Committee, and Mark Fern, Head Groundsman.

The Corvus Terrain Ex4 is a 4x4 electric utility vehicle designed to handle the demands of any workday.

Ashby Town Council says its off-road, capabilities and 100km range on a single charge, make it a versatile and efficient tool for the local authority's various operations.

It adds that the vehicle's lithium-ion 15Kwh battery and 3Kw (AC) charger 'ensure reliable performance while minimising environmental impact'.

Cllr Smith said: "This new electric utility vehicle is a vital step forward in our commitment to a sustainable future for Ashby de la Zouch.

"The Corvus Terrain Ex4 will allow us to carry out our essential work while significantly reducing our carbon footprint."

The council says that the acquisition of the electric utility vehicle underscores its dedication to environmentally responsible practices and its proactive approach to achieving its ambitious carbon neutrality goal.
