Blackfordby man, 21, is charged after being stopped by police for speeding in a 'damaged' BMW

A Blackfordby man has been charged with drink-driving while over the legal limit.
Swadlincote's Safer Neighbour Team posted about the incident on social media today (Sunday).
Officers spotted a 'damaged' BMW driving over the speed limit and after stopping the vehicle, made an arrest.
The post reads: "PC Boniface and PCSO Taylor have been patrolling Swadlincote this weekend and sighted this BMW which had significant damage.
"The vehicle was followed by the officers who noted the vehicle was travelling significantly over the speed limit.
"It was stopped, with the driver immediately admitting to having just come from the pub and pointing out to officers that he will be over the limit.
"A breath test was conducted which confirmed the male was over the limit, resulting in him being arrested.
"William Kennerly, 21 years, of Blackfordby has now been charged to court for driving whilst over the prescribed limit."
