Richard and Ange Bebbington have raised more than £300 for Ashby Castle Rotary after their Santa Run around the town on Saturday.

The Rotary will, in turn, be supporting Ashby Foodbank this Christmas.

The pair set off on a half marathon around Ashby and invited residents to support them along the way.

Richard told Ashby Nub News: "Accompanied with festive music, the run went very well, and the weather was pretty good too.

"The bit of drizzle kept us cool in the Santa Suits!

"The support along the route was tremendous with people beeping their car horns and giving us a wave which really lifted our spirits.

"Throughout the run it was great to see the children smiling, with one or two of the shyer ones peeping around their parents.

'We had a warm welcome through the windows of care homes, and the staff at Ashby Court joined in with the festive atmosphere with a little dance.

"It was definitely worth it, good fun and great to bring a little festive cheer around Ashby."
