Ashby Co-Op building on the market for almost £19k per month rent
By Grace Kennington 10th Feb 2026
The building that until recently housed The Co-Operative Food in Ashby has gone on the market for rent or purchase, including 122 parking spaces.
Believed to have been purpose built for The Co-Op in the late 1980s, it is now empty after a 'difficult decision' to close the store in November 2025.
The closure of the store was part of a re-assessment of all stores in Leicestershire by the business.
Now, the building is up for rent or purchase with Carter Jonas for £225,000 per year, around £18,750 per month.

This includes the almost 13,000 sq ft sales floor, 6,050 sq ft of storage, offices and staff space, as well as parking for 122 cars.
The possible closure of the carpark has been a cause for real concern among residents, as the town already has limited parking before the loss of this car park.
According to Carter Jonas, the space has planning consent to be used for businesses including: retail, offices, restaurants and cafes or for medical uses.
