79-year-old pedestrian has died following suspected hit-and-run in Ashby

A 79-year-old man has passed away in hospital following serious injuries caused by a collision with a car in Ashby on Monday 15 September. 

The man, who was a pedestrian, was taken to hospital after the collision but the driver left the scene at the junction of Hill Street and  Kilwardby Street. 

The Police identified a silver Vauxhaul Insignia that left the scene by the time emergency services arrived. 

A 33-year-old man was arrested in connected with the incident and has since been released on bail. 

Officers are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage that could help the investigation.
