Ashby Venue Enjoys A Rebound Of Its Own With Turnover Close To £1million

An Ashby venue has bounced back with a turnover close to seven figures in just seven months.

Rebound Inflatable Park in Smisby Road closed in May but was re-opened two months later when Milton Keynes company TopJump launched a second site.

And it has gone from strength to strength with a forward thinking policy.

"We're more stable, 100 per cent, we are easily adaptable and also as soon as the new trend comes in, we'll change, we'll adapt to the current demands," Rebound site manager Ben Sherriff told Ashby Nub News.

"We will carry this on. We're close to turning over £1million since opening.

"We have done amazingly well, it's a huge success story for Ashby.

"But we tracked it back and people from London and Manchester coming here, including one private hire from London.

"It's amazing to see how fast the word spreads.

"We've gone through a transformation since starting, our facilities have been stripped out from before and replaced with better equipment, we relaunched with a big impact statement."

Ben explained the new set-up which has been in place since last summer.

"We are a brand new management team at Rebound which opened on July 20 last year," he said.

"It's been a phenomenal reaction from Ashby town once they knew we were opening again, the kids knew they had something local they could go to, it's been a fantastic project.

"I was here from the start and from the planning side, it's been a real adventure so far.

"We're with completely different owners now, because of trends you'll find more inflatable parks.

"A lot more transition from trampolines to inflatables, that's the way the entertainment industry is going to go.

"We're three years behind America, so what they're be doing now, we'll be doing in three years.

"We also have a sister site in in Milton Keynes called TopJump which was the foundation of this growing business.

'We're open throughout the week, but weekends are manic, one Sunday, we had 700 people through the door and about 900 on a Saturday.

"But we cater for everyone, the less abled, the special education needs. It's a huge selling point, we focus on everyone's needs."

Rebound staged a special event last week as a result of their support of the Leicester Sports Awards last month.

'We teamed up with a company called Champions who supported that event," he said.

"Then we did the after party for them here last week, we had big businesses here from the Leicestershire area.

"It was a networking event which was also designed to spread awareness of our charity Mind, which the Mayor of Ashby also supports.

"We think mental health is an up and coming topic which needs to be spoken about.

"It's incredibly important and we want to spread that message of 'speak up'."
