Woman named following fatal stabbing in Linton

A woman has been named as part of an ongoing murder investigation by Swadlincote Police.
Officers were called to reports that a woman had been found with stab wounds at a property in The Crest, Linton in the afternoon of Sunday 21 June.
Joan Hardy, age 72, was pronounced dead at the scene and her family has been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 52-year-old man was arrested on Sunday and remains in police custody.
According to the Police, 'A scene remains at the house and is expected to be in place for a number of days.
'Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area whilst we carry out enquiries.'
The police are keen to hear from residents and neighbours who saw anyone enter or leave the property on Saturday or Sunday.
They would also like to hear from anyone who has CCTV, video doorbell or dash cam footage which covers The Crest between 12.01am on Saturday 20 June and 3pm on Sunday 21 June and have not already spoken to officers.
